Stallion Handler (Permanent)

Job Description: The role is to start for the coming 2024 stud season in February and therefore prior stud experience is advantageous but not essential. The successful applicant must be hardworking, reliable and prepared to work in a team, but also on their own, as well as working alternate weekends and additional hours when required during the stud season (Feb-June).

The role will include but is not limited to:

  • Be responsible for the care of the stallions, which includes handling, grooming, nutrition, and exercise.

  • Liaise with Stud office with regards to daily covering schedules during the stud season.

  • Ensure that the stallions are prepared for coverings.

  • Prepare and present stallions to owners and visitors.

  • Provide out of season support to the wider team.

Hours: Further Explanation on Application

During Stud Season 8:00am to 5:00pm with some evening coverings circa 8pm. Weekend covering times if required.

Out of Season 8.00 am to 4:30 pm Mon-Friday and every fourth weekend.

Skills Required: Team player, Good communicator.

Stable Hand- Weekend Work

Job Description: Stable hand/Yard Groom required on a NH Thoroughbred Stud in the Ellesmere area for Weekend Work.

Duties include: Feeding Horses, Leading horses in and out to Fields, Mucking Out.

No specific work experience needed. We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly, honest and reliable people to work with our current team.

Hours: 8:00-11:00 am, 3:00-5:00pm. Weekends negotiable but ideally 2 per month.

Skills Required: Confident around horses, Good team player, Good communicator.
